Welcome to Sun City West

Planned as a retirement community, Sun City West was built to accommodate the activities of energetic seniors and has made room for the life-style expectations of the soon to come baby boomer invasion! The city is located on 7100 acres about 25 miles northwest of Phoenix and is home to approximately 30,000 people. It is an age restricted Community. One member of each household must be 55 years old and no residents under the age of 19 are permitted to stay longer than 90 days.

Sun City West is the home of four recreation centers and nine beautiful golf courses. Due to the favorable climate play is possible almost 365 days a year.

Seven golf courses are available to residents and fees are among the lowest in Arizona. Four of the courses (Pebblebrook, Grandview, Deer Valley and Trail Ridge) are regulation-length courses while the other three (Stardust, Echo Mesa and Desert Trails) are executive-length courses. Briarwood Golf Course is Sun City West’s only private country club. Both social and golf memberships are available. Hillcrest, the city’s only public course, is owned by John Jacobs Golf Schools and has hosted both Senior PGA and LPGA tour events.

All four recreation centers boast Olympic sized swimming pools. Residents also enjoy tennis, bowling, miniature golf, indoor and outdoor walking and running tracks, racquetball, handball, a fitness gym, slow pitch baseball and much, much more.
