Sun City Grand opened in October 1996 and was built out in December 2005. There are 9550 homes of various sizes and styles.

The beautifully designed Village Center is the recreation focal point of the community. It features the Adobe Spa and Fitness Center, Chaparral Center, Sonoran Plaza and Artisan Studios.

The Adobe Spa and Fitness Center include heated indoor lap pool, an outdoor activity pool, indoor and outdoor spas, indoor walking track, fully equipped health and fitness area, a dance/exercise studio, plus tennis, pickle ball and bocce courts.

The Sonoran Plaza features a 9000 sq ft ballroom, a library, multiple meeting rooms, gourmet coffee house. The Artisian Studios close by accommodate a wide range of interests including stained glass, ceramics and painting.

The Cimarron Center is located on the west side of Sun City Grand. It features a fully equipped fitness center, a heated outdoor pool and the Cimarron Day Spa.
